Welcome to Canada, Part II

In 2015, at the height of the Syrian civil war, Canada opened its arms to help thousands of families and individuals fleeing the region.  Canada has taken in more than 25,000 people each year, including the Aljundi family in January of 2016. Read the post, Welcome to Canada, Part I. We told you a bit about their incredible story at the time, and now are thrilled to update it by telling you that the Aljundi family recently became Canadian citizens.

Over the past several years, Fadi Aljundi, his wife Nuha and their two daughters Rama and Raghad have grown to love three of our four seasons, the unique traditions of Canadian culture and especially the Canadian values of equality and inclusion.

Canada’s success as a nation is built in large measure on immigration and immigrants, and we have no doubt that the Aljundi family will be a big part of continuing that tradition.

As Canadians, we love our country, our cultural freedoms, and traditions and the diversity that comes from the people who choose to join us here.

Congratulations to our newest Canadians.  Welcome home!
